June 16th 1990 at the NHL draft:

The Devils traded the No. 11 pick and No. 32 pick in the draft to the Calgary Flames for the 20th, 24th and 29th picks. The Flames took goaltender Trevor Kidd at No. 11 and Finnish left winger Vesa Viitakoski, while New Jersey took Martin Brodeur at No. 20, defenseman David Harlock at No. 24 and right winger Chris Gotziaman at No. 29.
